Epson Canvas Paper

This material provides a unique texture and a true artistic look and is suitable for stretching onto frames. It acid free and made from 100% duck cotton based paper finished with a medium gloss paper coat specially prepared for high resolution ink jet printing. Being 18.8 mil thick and weighing 409.6 g/m it provides a heavyweight quality feel. ISO Brightness is 82.6%.

Mounting of Epson Canvas Paper

It is recommended Epson canvas paper be dry mounted in a vacuum press using Colour Mount which in New Zealand is available from HE Perry. The extra grip provided by this adhesive is particularly suitable for fibreboards.Because presses may vary in performance and condition, experimentation will be needed to determine best press settings. As a guide an A3 size may require 6-7 minutes @ 90-100 degrees Celsius. The temperature setting should not be lower than 85 degrees Celsius. Tests should start with retention times as long as 5 minutes after a vacuum is reached, and repeated for shorter intervals until the strongest bond is achieved for the least time. Times shorter than 3 minutes are not recommended.

Protecting the ink surface of Epson Canvas Paper

Our canvases are printed with a system of six Epson T5 archival inks. Being pigmented they form a solid resin surface on the canvas and are rated for a 200 year life. While the inks are rated as extremely waterproof and fade resistant, extra protection from two to three coats of acrylic over spray is recommended if the print is to be framed without glass.Lyson Print Guard is preferred and is available in New Zealand from HE Perry. This provides waterproofing, UV inhibition and resistance to gas fading.
